Dear friends, family, and all who read this,
In April of this year, Mariah, just 34 years old, was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, triple negative, BRCA1 (IDC-TNBC)—a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that most often affects younger women.
Mariah began chemotherapy at the end of May, which is the first and most important step in her treatment. Once chemotherapy is completed in October and she has had time to heal, she will undergo a double mastectomy, followed by a hysterectomy, since IDC-TNBC often impacts both the breasts and ovaries. While the physical burden of this diagnosis is more than enough to carry, the financial burden of medical care in America can be just as overwhelming.
This is a tough prognosis, but Mariah is tougher. She has faced every step with extraordinary bravery, grit, and determination. Mariah is not the kind of person who asks for help—she has always been strong and independent, making her own way in life. That’s why I am asking on her behalf.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and sending words of encouragement. Let’s wrap Mariah in love and support her in every way we can. Every contribution, no matter the size, goes directly toward her medical expenses.
Thank you for standing with Mariah in this fight!!
