Wendy’s Medical Expenses

Hi everyone. We are starting this fundraiser to help support our mother, Wendy, and her partner, Dane, with the costs that have accumulated over the past few years. In April 2021, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer after being in remission for 10 years. The cancer came back in her bones; more specifically: on her skull, rib cage, spine, and pelvis.

Throughout the past 2 plus years, she has gone through countless treatments, including chemotherapy drugs, radiation, and surgeries. She has fought courageously and fiercely, but unfortunately we have exhausted all options and have now reached the point where she is starting hospice.

We are hoping to help alleviate some of the financial burden from the last 2.5 years and what’s to come. Dane has been there every step of the way. He has driven Wendy to and from SLC from Moab for her surgeries, treatments and appointments. He had a stair lift put in their home, so Wendy could be both downstairs and upstairs. As you can imagine, all this has not only been financially draining, but takes time away from work too. Dane has been extremely helpful to many in their community and lends his time and knowledge at his own expense and never expects anything back. He has done the same for our mother and we are eternally grateful.
