Anything will Help

Hello my name is Albert and I’m a Mailman in the Willow District. I deliver mail from Cypress to Lewis and also deliver to Tapestry on Central. I’ve been the mailman there for about 6yrs. I got hurt at work in April of 2022. I fell backwards onto a pallet jack at work. I hurt my lower back shoulders and my neck. Unfortunately during this time the Post Office was not helpful with my work related injury. They offered no help to me at all in how to fill out forms properly to be able to get my case approved by workers comp. So for 9 months I was not getting paid in any way from the post office. Since my claim was denied my injury was not considered work related. My funds will be used to be able to pay bills and just be able to survive. I had to sell things and take loan on my 401 k to get by and family did help as well with getting a lawyer to fight my case. Me and my family did suffer financially and emotionally during this time as well. I went into a severe depression and weight gain due to lack of movement from injuries. Finally in January my claim got approved and I was able to return to work with limitations. Work was still being and has been difficult with me in assisting me with help. Unfortunately they don’t treat people as people if it doesn’t benefit them. On February 22nd I was scheduled for my shoulder surgery on right side ended up being a rotator cuff surgery. Even though my case got approved I’m not sure how easy my time gone will be paid. Since the post office hasn’t been helpful with me even after approval with workers comp. Anything will help and I’m so greatful for all the friends I have made since being a mailman. Everyone I meet has a special place in my heart. Also the four legged friends I have made as well.
