Susan's Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Lilly McDowell. I am Susan's youngest daughter of 3.
My mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis years before I was born and it has impacted her life beyond words. She is almost entirely paralyzed save for small movements with her arms, and through the years it has only gotten worse.
She relies heavily on the care of others.
In 2022, she has been in and out of the hospital multiple times and the debt is racking up.
In June 2022, she was admitted to Wexner Medical Center for what they later found was a combination of an intestinal blockage, sepsis, and a vitamin deficiency. My parents are still struggling to pay those bills back and are in medical debt.
Despite this, on October 21, Susan was admitted to our local ER for a serious bone infection in her coccyx that could kill her without treatment. As of October 28, she was finally moved to a facility that could perform the surgery she needs called St. Annes.
I cannot tell you the exact cost, but I know it is well above thousands of dollars, even after insurance.
This fundraiser isn't to cover the bills in their entirety, but if it could, it would be enormous for my family. The current goal is to just provide a bit of breathing room.
Even a dollar would mean the world to us. Whatever you could spare to help a mother, a sister, a wife, and a grandmother.
If you can't spare the money, that's okay! I understand (I'm a freshman in college) and my mother would never ask someone to put themself out like that!
Another way to help is to share our campaign.
The more people that see it, the better chance we have of meeting our goals!
My parents always taught me that we take care of each other and were always such generous people when they themselves were more fortunate. I believe they deserve a chance to feel the same generosity that they shared with the world year after year.
