IN MEMORY OF KERRY PIERCE

Donation protected
This is the worst possible news that any family should have to deal with.

On Labour Day, September 2, 2019 my son Kerry Pierce was involved in a boating accident in Prince Rupert and is still missing.  The RCMP, Coast Guard, and a dive team brought in from the Queen Charlottes have been unsuccessful in finding him.

Kerry worked for Coast 2000 in Vancouver and transferred to their new facility in Prince Rupert in June  of this year.  He bought his first home in July and anxiously awaited the arrival of his “girls”- his fiancé Jocelyn and her daughter, Yshi Gail, who arrived in Prince Rupert one week before the accident.  Jocelyn planned to apply for work in a care facility as soon as they were settled.

Kerry flourished in his new surroundings.  He was excited about his home and job, loved exploring  Prince Rupert and everything it has to offer on both land and water, and made many friends in his short time there.
These people, as well as many others in the community, have also embraced Jocelyn and Yshi.

Due to the nature of the accident and the fact that Kerry is considered a “missing person”, our hands are tied financially for the foreseeable future.  The mortgage is in Kerry’s name and any life insurance or death benefits cannot be paid out until he is found or a designation is made so that a death certificate can be issued, which can be a lengthy process.  They have a small savings which will cover living expenses for a very short period of time.  Jocelyn would like to be able to stay in Prince Rupert and reside in the home that she and Kerry planned on sharing.
