Hi, my name is Shreya Wigh and I am the older sister of
Sophia Wigh. Sophia is a beautiful six year old girl, who
always smiled and made people smile with her fun, loving, and outgoing attitude. This is her and I below in October of 2014.
In early December of 2014, when my family and I
returned from a vacation, Sophia fell ill. She had a fever
and couldn't keep any food down, and would complain of
stomach pain. My family and I were convinced she
maybe had caught the flu because it was flu season, or
was possibly constipated. This stretched over a time
period of three weeks with doctor visits, new medicines,
and patterns of her getting better and then falling
ill again.
Eventually her pain became so severe and
unbearable, my mother and I took her to the urgent care
clinic at our local hospital. Without even seeing a doctor,
the nurse advised my mother and I to quickly take her
to the emergency room. There, I met my family, and
after a series of scans and tests she was diagnosed with
Liver Hepatoblastoma, a rare type of liver cancer. This
specific type of cancer has spread throughout the
entirety of baby sisters liver, and after many cycles of
chemotherapy, will require liver surgery and/or a liver
transplant. The picture below is of her and I as of
January 4,2015, shortly after most of her hair was cut
off.

My mother has quit her job and has started living full
time at the hospital where Sophia is being treated 24/7. My father works two average jobs, struggling with bills and making ends meet. In the first month of this treatment, the bills have piled up to equal up hundreds of thousands of dollars. Sophia will require close to a year of treatment for her specific type of cancer, and these bills are continuing to pile up with every day of treatment.
My family and I cannot afford to pay the entirety of
these bills alone, and have decided to reach out for help
in order to pay these bills. Any amount you will be able
to give is very much appreciated, and we are forever
thankful for your kindness.
Sophia hasn't lost her fight though, and neither will we. We need your help through support, prayers and anything else you could possibly give during this tough time. Thank you so much and we are so beyond grateful for your support, and we ask that you please share this page on your social media accounts for others to see.
