Lung transplant

There comes a time in someone’s life that one must swallow their pride and ask for help for me this time is now.            My name is Bryan Smith I am 29 years old with a wife and 2 wonderful dogs. They are not my problem. My problem is I was born with a life-threatening disease called Cystic Fibrosis. In the 29 years I have had to encounter a large amount of hospital stays so many that I cannot even keep count anymore. In my hospital stays I get put on intravenous medications for 2-3 weeks at a time. Over my growing years my lungs have progressively gotten worse making it almost impossible to breath leading to me having to use oxygen. I have had pneumonia multiple times and not one but 2 pneumothoraxes meaning hole in the lungs. The Drs have told me that they have done everything that they can do for me with all my medications. On a regular basis I take multiple pills, breathing treatments, inhalers, and I use a therapy vest and I am on oxygen to try and keep myself going and to try and make it easier to breath.            So here comes the best part of this letter this is what I need you guys for this is where I am asking for the help. I have been giving the chance for a second chance at life. I have been told that I am a perfect patient for a double lung transplant however I need help with the financial part of this. I am asking for help raising money to help with the bills and transportation back and forth. My wife and I are going to NYC every couple of months now to continue being evaluated. This trip for us is a 6 hour drive one way and is very costly for us and once I have the transplant it will only get worse. I will be placed under sedation for the surgery and then placed on life support for however many weeks it takes for my body to start to heal and except the new lungs. But that is just the start of things, I will have to go there once a week for a few months and then every other week to finally within the year I will be down to once a month if everything goes well.  And will have to continue to go there for the rest of my life to watch for my body to reject the lungs or to make sure that I am not getting any infections. I will be out of work for at least a year possibly even more and when I do return I will have to change how I work tremendously to where I may not be able to work as much then as I do now for a while. I am hoping that you can find it in your heart to donate giving me the chance to go into this with a clear mind that my wife and family will be taken care of and that she is not going to have to stress worrying about how she is going to take care of the bills and money for transportation along with the stress from caring for me.            I would love this second chance of life and with your help I can have it.
