This January, I will be traveling to Guatemala with students from Michigan State University and VIDA Volunteers to serve in mobile clinics and provide healthcare to underserved communities. I’ll have the opportunity to shadow physicians, assist with taking vitals, distribute medical supplies, and teach children about health and wellness.

This trip is meaningful because it brings free healthcare and education to families who otherwise have limited access, while also allowing me to gain valuable real-world clinical experience that will prepare me for my future career as a Physician Assistant. Beyond the professional benefits, it’s a chance to grow personally while making a real difference in the lives of others.
