Help Clinic by the Bay Protect Our Life Saving Medications for Giving Tuesday
Clinic by the Bay is a free clinic in San Francisco’s Excelsior District that cares for uninsured adults who have nowhere else to go. One of the most essential pieces of equipment in our clinic is our medication and vaccine refrigerator. It stores everything from routine vaccinations to life saving medications our patients rely on, including insulin and other temperature sensitive treatments we dispense to manage chronic illness.
The backup batteries that keep this fridge running during power outages have reached the end of their lifespan. Without reliable backup power, even a short outage could spoil thousands of dollars worth of medications. These medications help our patients manage diabetes, prevent heart attacks and strokes, control blood pressure, and stay healthy enough to work and care for their families.
For Giving Tuesday, we are trying to raise at least $3,500 to replace these batteries and ensure our refrigerator stays powered no matter what.
Cost breakdown:
- $3,000 for the replacement backup battery and delivery
- $500 for professional installation
This small investment prevents large losses and protects uninterrupted access to care for our most vulnerable neighbors.
If you are able, please help us safeguard our medications, our vaccines, and the continuity of care that our patients depend on. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
Clinic by the Bay is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Many employers offer matching gifts, and we encourage donors to check with their workplace. We are also happy to provide any documentation needed to complete an employer match.
Matching gifts can double or even triple the impact of your donation.
