Giving Lucky her best new chance at a great life
Donation protected

Hello, I’d like to introduce you to a sweet little dog we named Lucky. Lucky was found on a construction job we started, under a mobile home mid March of this year. She looked very emaciated, scared, and in much pain. Luckys right arm had been severed at the wrist joint and barely hanging on. Her little tail broken in many places and nearly collapsed each time she tried to walk. The elderly home owners had no idea where she came from nor the means to help her so we took on the responsibility and took her to Gibson Amimal Clinic in Waycross GA after reaching out to family and local animal rescue group FRIENDS. Rusty Gibson took Lucky to right in seeing the state she was in. His opinion was “she was hit by a vehicle and left if he was to guess as to why she was found like this.” He also said she is an elderly dog maybe 10-12 years old with two bad back legs already eat up with arthritis, without the traumatic injury. She also has a lot of scaring all over her body, so it seems Lucky has had a very rough past but is as sweet and loving as can be when shown attention. He tried to save her leg and gave it some time to heal and boarded her at his clinic during this entire time. With her walking, the leg more hindered her than helped because she seemed to drag it constantly. Unfortunately the site stayed swollen and never did ever heal at the rate it should to be able to save it. The last week of April the leg was amputated. She will continue to stay with Dr. Rusty Gibson a couple more weeks until the sutures and sites are healed. We are asking for help for Luckys boarding, amputation, vet expenses, spading, heartworm treatment, and donations to Gibson Animal Clinic for taking Lucky in as a rescue. And also any donations to The FRIENDS animal rescue group are welcome they also donated only Luckys behave. We just want the best future for this sweet Ole girl. Our friendship started on that cool March day with a little pack of Lance cheesy peanut butter crackers and we haven’t been able to stop wanting to make her life a better one since. I will continue to share updates on Lucky and answer any questions anyone may have about her. Thank you for listening to Luckys’ story.
