My name is Alexandra.
*EDIT, new surgery*
Thank you again so much to everyone who has been so helpful donating to my GFM. Right now, I'm collecting any other donations to help cover some smaller expenses after my next gender confirmation surgery (Feb 23!!) If you have the means, anything would be extremely appreciated, and I thank you:)
*Previous surgery below*
I'm having a Gender Confirming Surgery in September of this year (really exciting, really nerve-wracking!) Transitioning can be very, very scary and lonely. But in a world that doesn't always want you to feel that you belong, you have to find your own path in life.
I've always been treated differently in that way, even as a young teenager in high school. Being bullied, harassed, told that I should be killed, all in front of other students, who felt that was how you treat people who are different than you are. And all in front of teachers, who only looked away from what was happening. I was too afraid to speak up for myself, and I was too afraid to tell my mom, who was one of my few support systems.
As an adult, I can see how much I've grown into the person who I am today. I can see how much stronger I've become, and I wish I could for a second speak to my younger self to say that one day, this will all be worth it -- and it was. I've learned how to sew new seeds of positivity in my thoughts, how to stand up for myself and other people who still can't defend themselves.
From this surgery, I'm seeking to help fill a part of myself that has been missing for so long. This surgery is Facial Feminization Surgery, or FFS -- a process of surgical procedures to reduce secondary male features. This can help us feel safer, and I just want safety and comfort in my own skin, to move through this world as safely as possible.
Any donation is immensely appreciated. I'm hoping to reach this goal of $10,000, or more, by then. This money goes towards my procedure and preparations/recovery for my biggest, life-changing surgery scheduled for 2021.
Thank you so, so much for reading this. Sending love to everyone who has supported me throughout my life. Thank you.
