*UPDATE* - Top Surgery has been booked in for the 26th of August!

I don’t quite have the words to express just how thankful I am to everyone that has donated, but thank you so, SO much. I never once thought top surgery would be achievable, so to have a date locked in and to have my deposit paid honestly feels unreal. It’s been a week since I booked it and it still feels a little bit like a dream, but I’m so, SO excited to live in a body that feels like mine.

Hello! My name is Toby, I'm 21 and LOVE Ferrari and the F1, and I also happen to be a trans man. I'm currently in my third year of my English Literature degree (which I absolutely love), and am hoping to go into a career in motorsports journalism and media once I've graduated. I'm a diehard Charles Leclerc fan, an avid reader, and have recently become a bit of a gym rat. After several years of completely self-funding my medical transition, I have decided to take the plunge and make a fundraiser for my top surgery.

I came out when I was around 14 after years of internal struggle with my gender identity. I was not in an environment where I could express or explore my identity, so I didn't begin my social transition until I turned 18 and moved to university. Socially transitioning saved my life, and beginning HRT last year has drastically improved my quality of life. It's only since transitioning that I have been able to feel what true happiness is like.

I felt unsure about asking for help funding my top surgery for such a long time, but with the current political climate and social attitudes towards trans people, I worry about my access to gender affirming surgery and how this might change in the future. Top surgery is the final thing I need to truly be able to live life to the fullest, without constantly worrying about whether my outfit will cover my chest, or if my binder strap is showing through my tshirt.
