I am a 60 year old construction professional that has been diagnosed with stage four brain and neck cancer. While I was working construction to help a friend who provided room and board, I could tell my physical abilities began to deteriorate. Others noticed a growth starting to form on my neck and I had issues with my throat. I went to the dentist thinking that I might have a tooth infection only to be sent to a specialist. A biopsy was done on my throat and then on my neck which depleted any savings I had. I was then told I needed to leave the housing that I had since I wasn’t able to keep up with the amount of work they required for my board.
Thrown out with no place to go I was taken in by a family that found the generosity and heart to help me out. They have a full family with 4 kids which is a full house already and I feel like I am imposing on them and causing stress in the marriage. I would like to be able to move out on my own and be able to support myself so I am asking for any assistance or help in obtaining a camper that I could use for a home while I am administered chemo and radiation. From what I understand I will recover but will have to have reconstructive surgery as the cancer has spread from the throat to my nose cavity then to the brain followed by moving to the right ear and behind my right eye which will take at least a year of chemo and radiation.
I am not looking for a new fancy camper and it is very hard to ask for handouts as it’s usually me giving to others. But it seems when the C word is thrown out people you have known change and times become very difficult. So not able to work and will bills to pay life has become very difficult and times are hard.
Thanks for anything you can give and could lend toward this goal. Nothing is taken for granted and I appreciate everything.
