End of Life Services-Sandra Wilson
Donation protected
As many of you know my grandma Sandra Wilson has been the definition of a fighter and overcomer. Living with one kidney her whole life and having kidney dialysis 3 times a week the last 5 years. My grandmother has never let any of her ailments stop her from living life and making everyone in her life as well as a stranger on a street feel like they mean the world to her. Just over two weeks ago my grandma had a dizzy spell while going to the restroom in the middle of the night, falling hitting her head and breaking her left arm. She had to have surgery to fix her broken arm. Several days later my grandmother started to decline in health. She wasn't alert, couldn't focus and couldn't speak. They thought she may have had a stroke. All tests have come back that there were no signs of a stroke. Grandma Sandy was put into CCU where tests found out she had pneumonia as well as Staph. They placed a breathing tube in her to help with her oxygen, though she made small improvements over the course of a few days by opening her eyes, shaking her head yes and no, and even started saying small sentences. They decided to move her to a regular room where she was off the breathing tube to try and see if she could breathe on her own but apparently the pneumonia and infection came back in both lungs, making it harder for her to breathe. Even with having her dialysis treatments, they were in hope of having the fluids to come off of her lungs, but yesterday, 6/17/2018 my grandmother was moved to PICU (pulmonary intensive care unit). Today, 6/18/18 the doctor has stated that my grandma has lung failure and is in her end stage of life. We are creating this page in hopes to cover her end of life services.
