The Manali Medical Aid Project (MMAP) is a charitable initiative led by medical students at the University of Queensland. Founded in 2007, MMAP aims to raise funds and purchase medical equipment for the Lady Willingdon Hospital in Manali, India.

The Lady Willingdon Hospital is the only viable provider of surgery & specialized medicine for the people in the Kullu Valley and surrounding regions - a population of about 472,000. The hospital has 55 beds and is staffed by 5 consultants, and provides 24-hour primary and secondary healthcare. In addition to this, the Lady Willingdon Hospital promotes health improvement through engagement activities that extend beyond the hospital grounds. Some of these programs include conducting medical & surgical clinics in remote towns, vaccinations, medication for school children and training programs for health workers to promote community health. All of this work is done under the hospital's philosophy - no patient will be turned away, no matter their race, religion, age, sex or financial situation.

In the past, we have contributed to the Manali community by assisting with the purchase of the first ventilated ambulance in Himachal Pradesh, a CT scanner, and funding for the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis. Sadly, since 2019 MMAP has had to take a bit of a hiatus due to COVID-19 - so we are more than excited to get things back up and running, and we would love your support.

All proceeds go directly to the Lady Willingdon Hospital.
