Jason’s Medical Journey

Donation protected
On Friday, July 25th, Jason was brought to the ER due to 'feeling off'. After being in the ER for a few hours, his oxygen levels started to drop, and he began to get confused. His oxygen levels dropped so low in a matter of hours that he needed to be placed on the ventilator to assist him in breathing. He was then transferred to Methodist Hospital early Saturday morning. It was found that he has fluid surrounding his lungs and heart. Since arriving at Methodist Hospital, he has been in the intensive care unit, and he has been in a medically induced coma with the ventilator doing 100%-90% of his breathing. The doctors are working hard to get the fluid off of his heart and lungs. As of this afternoon (August 4th), his vitals are stable, and due to some repositioning, he was able to go from the ventilator doing 90% of his breathing to the ventilator doing 50%! He is still fully sedated and has a long road ahead of him, which will include assisted living facilities while doing rehabilitation, frequent check-ins with various doctors, and a change in lifestyle. What we thought would be a short trip to the emergency room has already become a 10-day stay in the Intensive Care Unit with many days still ahead.

Due to this event, I have started this GoFundMe in order to help Kim with large medical bills, everyday expenses, gas to and from the hospital, etc. so she can be with Jason as much as possible since that is where her mind has been since this all started.
