Our scruffy little man Cooper has always been full of energy, barks, tail wags and morning cuddles - the heart of our wee family. This week, everything changed.

After suddenly becoming unwell on Friday 8th of August, Cooper was rushed to the emergency vet. Blood tests revealed serious liver problems, and scans showed worrying changes. He’s been vomiting, shaking, is so weak, tired and in a lot of pain.

Our vets suspect a serious underlying condition and have referred us to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh for advanced diagnostics, including a CT scan and other specialist tests. This is his best chance to get an accurate diagnosis and the treatment he needs.

Why we’re asking for help:

Specialist care is extremely expensive, and this has come out of nowhere. We’ve already had to cover emergency visits, medication, bloodwork, and imaging (£3,700 so far) and the CT scan, further tests, and possible treatment could take the total cost to over £10,000. Our insurance only covers £2,500 - leaving us with a huge shortfall that is far beyond our normal living and savings capacity.

We never imagined we’d have to ask for help like this, but Cooper means the world to us and we’ll do whatever it takes to give him a chance.

Cooper isn’t “just a pet” to us. He’s our family. He’s the one who greets us every morning, comforts us when we’re down, and has been there through every life change. We can’t bear to lose him without trying everything we can.
