JR Rich THE MIRACLE MAN Medical Bills Assistance

JR RICH'S STORY BEGAN FEBRUARY 2, 2023. OUR story began almost 50 years ago, when I, Jane Stebbins-Skowron and JR met, bonded and became forever friends. I moved him from his "retirement" in South Carolina to Auburn NY in October of 2022 because we agreed he would be happier in his hometown of Auburn, NY.

But Feburary 2 changed all that.

JR wasn't feeling well, and I advised him to go to our local hospital to be evaluated. At that time JR asked if I would be his health care proxy if anything went haywire and I said yes immediately.

24 hours later, everything changed. JR was taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and I recieved a call at 3 a.m. letting me know he was "crashing" and it appeared he may die. This sent me into a spiral of denial, sadness, courage and loyalty, and so began 48 days of watching JR in a coma while everyone around him desperately worked to save his life.

WHAT HAPPENED? CAPS HAPPENED.. Catastrophic Antiphospolipid Syndrome, a type of lupus that strikes 1 in five million with an incredibly low survival rate.

With an amazing team of doctors, outstanding nurses and staff from Upstate and life or death decisions made daily with constant health care proxy permissions from myself, the nearly impossible happened....JR SURVIVED.

Total time spent in hospitals, almost 3 months. The aftermath of this nightmare is now financial. Though there has been some financial relief provided by insurance and Medicare, significant costs remain. Today I ask for help from JR's friends for any donation to help defray these costs tht come in almost daily.
