This past July, JR Nelson wasn't feeling his normal self and checked into the hospital.  Sadly, at that time, it was discovered that JR had late stage cancer.

JR has been undergoing immunotherapy treatment to try to beat the cancer, but unfortunately the treatment has also attacked his healthy organs, resulting in multiple hospital stays, and his condition has rapidly deteriorated.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise money to deal with expenses around his medical care, and costs for what is to come should the situation grow more dire. 

JR also shares a home with his brother Bobby, who will not be able to afford to remain there without JR's portion of their monthly expenses.  As such, money raised from this fundraiser will also be used toward helping Bobby stay in his home and not be displaced in the middle of this trying time.

JR has been a stalwart neighbor to the Highlandtown community for years.  I know many of us know and love JR and his presence in our community and lives.  Now he needs us!  We appreciate any and all help.
