Devon severely needs her helmet. But because she is 14 months (on Wednesday), 12 months corrected (on the 9th) her time is running short on the impact a helmet will have. Later down the road her vision and hearing could be impaired because of the weight of her head on one side, because the brain will conform to the shape of her skull. The helmet cost $3,600 and Tricare covers ZILCH! We're military so they will cut the price to $1,800. We can't afford that. Our option now is to apply to a charity and hope they pick Devon's case. They decide on cases on the first week of the month, so we must wait until February. With Devon being so "old" her head can't be fixed 100%. But any fix is better than none. If the charity helps us they will cover $1,500 so we will have to cover the rest.
