AJ's Medical Expenses

Donation protected

This ray of sunshine is AJ. He is 17 years old. AJ loves to play the piano, sing, learn, laugh, and care for his family, especially the elders. He is well known in the church community of Tanauan Batangas, especially among the seniors because he is a church choir member  & was a constant companion of his grandmothers. To know AJ, is to be infected by his sweet, kind and loving personality. His smile can brighten up the day. But AJ needs your help….

On Dec. 3,  AJ was in a devastating accident on his way to school. The commuter van he was riding overturned 6 times after a tire blowout.  He was sitting in front next to the driver, who sadly passed away. Two student passengers perished, while 16 others were severely injured including AJ.

The first responders found AJ thrown out of the van, in the center divide of the highway several yards away from the van.  His pelvic bones shattered.  He was in ICU for a few days.  He underwent his first surgery a  week after the accident.   A team of 3 orthopedic pelvic surgeons operated on him for 9 long hours.   AJ is now recovering but still in the hospital.  He is always in pain.   Please pray that God give him strength to endure the severe pain.

After AJ heals from the 1st surgery, he will undergo another major surgery.  Then, months of physical therapy &  other post-trauma treatment.  The hospital bills at this point is starting to pile up, already estimated at more than P700,000  ($13,500) .  And that’s just the beginning.  He's got a long road ahead of him and  more medical expenses will be incurred.  AJ  will definitely need help with the expenses.

This is a devastating event, difficult to grasp, especially for AJ and his family.  One thing we do know is that there is hope and a bright future.  AJ is fighting to get well, like a strong survivor that he is. It may be awhile before AJ is up and running again, but he will continue to sing, learn, smile and pray throughout what will be a long and difficult fight.  Please include him in your daily prayers.

Unfortunately, AJ and his family cannot make this journey alone and therefore, must ask for your help.  While it will pale in comparison to what the family will be experiencing physically, emotionally and spiritually over the coming months, the financial burden will be staggering.   Your contribution no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.  Thank you.
