Hello. My name is Ashlea, and I am starting a fundraiser for medical bills and travel expenses for our daughter Kala, who is 14. We have been on a journey of finding a cause for her medical condition since late 2015 /early 2016. Every test we have done so far has come back inconclusive, that is, until a month ago. Kala had a spinal tap, and it showed six oligoclonal bands in her CSF. We do not have a pediatric MS doctor in Louisiana any longer, so we are now being sent 5 hours from home to Texas Children's Hospital. Though Kala has private and disability insurance, we know not all tests and visits are always covered. With us traveling out of state, we are not sure disability will pick up after private insurance. We are also asking for help with travel expenses (i.e., hotel, food, gas) while we are searching for a plan of care for our girl.
