Hi. My name is Shane, and I have a project underway to help one homeless person turn their life around and get them back on their feet and living life once more.

I run the Youtube Channel Auditing The Absurd and am changing the direction of the channel so that I can help people through activism and awareness videos. How will this project be undertaken and completed?

I am going to be sleeping rough myself in a city that has a lot of homeless people on the streets. I want to tell you all first-hand what my experience was like and document it in a way that can give a greater understanding of what people go through in those circumstances. After several days, I will seek out others on the streets and sit and talk to them and find out their back stories. I will not let them know what I am doing at all, and this way, I will be able to have them open up a little bit more. I want to find someone who wants to start over but doesn't know how to, that is ready to pick themselves up once again.

Now of course there are people out there who really don't need the help, and others that do it for other reasons and this is why going undercover will help me find a real person in need.

When my time undercover is up, I want to offer them the chance to get off the streets.

The money raised will go towards housing them for a bare minimum of 3 months, buying new clothing, getting them a mobile phone, to pay their utilities, and doing my best to get them a job. I will also buy plenty of food to get things started. A small amount will be used to acquire technology to help document this.

I have reached out to many charities already for support and only one got back to me with a 'Sorry we cannot help' email. The others simply did not respond. Hence why I am using gofundme and the community to make this happen. I do know that food banks will be a very useful resource going forward.

I have no idea how many people I will find who genuinely are ready to move on, hopefully 1 or maybe even 2. But if I surpass the target here, I will try and help others.

I will be sleeping rough with no money as a means to start, so I will see how that works out, and if, through people's generosity, I have money at the end of the activism in my pocket, I will make sure to distribute that to the genuine homeless.

I will be starting all of this on 17th of November and plan to complete everything before Christmas. Hopefully this will the start of more activism similar to this.
