Help Jason Fight a Life-Threatening Infection

Jason is a skilled roofer who spent years doing physically demanding work to support himself and the people around him. He absolutely hates to take a day off. He works in rain and snow, it doesn't matter, as long as the work gets done, and done well. He helps anyone who needs help. He is the sort of man who would give the shirt off his back if it meant helping someone. A short time ago, he woke up with severe back pain. Like most people in a physical trade, he assumed it was job-related and would pass.

It didn’t.

Doctors discovered that the pain was caused by a bacterial infection from the flu in his bloodstream. The infection spread aggressively, causing major complications around his spine and heart. This is not a minor illness. It’s a serious, life-threatening medical situation.

Jason is now facing the possibility of complex surgeries involving both his back and his heart, along with extended hospitalization, recovery, and rehabilitation. He is unable to work and has no way to cover the mounting medical and living expenses that come with something like this. He is the main earner of our family and I will need to take care of him in his recovery.

This fundraiser is to help Jason focus on surviving and healing instead of worrying about how he’s going to pay for basic necessities. Funds will go toward medical costs, recovery support, travel costs for his wife and son and day-to-day expenses while he is unable to work. Recovery time is estimated at 6 months to a year.
