Sophie’s Story

In November 2024, Lizzie and Keith received the most devastating news — their beautiful daughter Sophie, at just under 18 months old, was diagnosed with CLN1 Batten Disease, a rare and incurable genetic disorder. This condition, sadly, is life-limiting. In light of this, the family is dedicated to making every moment count and to giving Sophie the most fulfilled life.

Lizzie and Keith’s strength and resilience have been nothing short of inspiring. They’ve been documenting Sophie’s journey through their Facebook page, Sophie’s Story, in an effort to raise awareness about Batten Disease.

On Sunday, 5th October 2025, I’ll be taking part in the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon in Glasgow. The funds raised will go directly to supporting Lizzie, Keith, Chloe, and Sophie in creating the most special memories together.

Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world. Thank you so much for your support.

With love,
Lisa x
