On March 5, 2016, Steve began the fight for his life. A lung infection quickly became a much larger problem as it affected many systems and organs in his body. It affected his respiratory system so severely that he required a ventilator to help him breathe. He was admitted into the intensive care unit at the regional hospital and has remained there to this day. Over the past month and a half, he has endured many setbacks with his wife, daughter and family watching over him, praying and urging him to continue to fight to live. With every step forward, there have been significant hurdles to overcome. Although not out of the woods yet, Steve is slowly and steadily making gains in his health. However, his lungs are still very weak and require the assistance of a ventilator through a tracheotomy to breathe. This process of healing is uncertain, with the only guarantee of it not being an overnight process. Since Steve is self-employed and relies on physical work to contribute to his household income, the costs of his illness have been and will continue to be significant. I set up this page in hopes of family, friends and acquaintances contributing in any way they can to help Steve and Karen through this challenging time. Please consider helping by donating on this page and also by donating blood if you are able. Steve and Karen appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness so very much.
Sincerely,
Shannon Fry (Steve's niece)
