Raising for Romeo ❤️

Despite our many attempts to do it on our own... We need help. Romeo our 7 month old boxer is in need of surgery to fix his severe angular limb deformity. Romeo "rescued" from a local pet store has been fighting for his life. It was obvious that he was being neglected by the store owner , later to find out she was refusing recommended medical care. He was hospitalized right after he was purchased. He was diagnosed with bronchopneumonia, left untreated for so long, that he now has permanent scarring on his lungs. He was severely malnourished, had parasites, and when he'd cough, his lung would protrude from his neck due to lack of muscle tone. Veterinary professionals felt that he may die, but reassured us that there was still a chance for him. After hospitalization, multiple courses of antibiotics, weekly check ups, reoccurrant X-rays, and other testing... Romeo has finally been declared healthy enough to get the surgery he needs in order to remain mobile.... Yay!! Although this is great news, we have spent everything we had helping him get well up until now. Any help that you can provide to help our puppy get back up on his feet (literally) would greatly be appreciated. Thank you for reading our story.





Update 04/01/16: Brought our dear Romeo home from his big surgery today. Doctors said everything went well. The hardest part for us is making him comfortable and keeping his pain under control. He hasn't figured out how to walk with the bandages yet but doctors assured us that he will eventually get a hang of things. Recovery time is estimated anywhere between 8-16 weeks and that will include weekly visits to the vet and rehab therapy sessions. We are so proud of our fighting little pup for being such a trooper.
