JP’s Equipment Replacement Fund

For the last 10 years, I’ve watched my brother tirelessly work to build a business, establish a client base, develop his skills, and accumulate all of the equipment necessary to work as a general contractor.

Saturday morning, the truck he had was hotwired, and his brand new trailer full of all of his tools were stolen in broad daylight from his driveway. 

The tools alone represent over $50,000, not to mention his truck and trailer - and have taken him his entire professional career to put together. 

Not only does this represent the total loss of the investment he has made over the years, it represents the loss of his livelihood and the countless hours that went into sourcing and acquiring the equipment necessary for him to practice his craft.

The truck was a mechanic's loaner, so insurance won't cover the tools or trailer. The tools have almost certainly been sold, and the investment of time and energy that he has put into this collection can’t be replaced.

Those of you that know JP know that he is an incredibly generous person with his time, his talent,and his tools. This is the guy who works a full time job and also donates his time to a class teaching high schoolers trade skills [link]. He’s always the first to help when others are in need, so if you are able, it would be great if we could come together when he needs us.

You probably also know that he’s stubborn and fiercely independent, so maybe we don’t tell him about this gofundme until it’s too late for him to make me take it down.
