As many of you may know, this year I am working towards my second attempt at Thru Hiking the Appalachian Trail. One of the problems I ran in to last time I tried this was money, and unfortunately I seem to be running in to the same problems again. I am making this page to ask for any assistance possible to help me complete this adventure of a lifetime. The money will go towards food, occasional lodging when in town, and most of all towards replacing gear. I have a great trail family that I am hiking with, and I really feel as if all of us together have what it takes to finish this trail. I do feel rather guilty about asking for money, so I have been trying to think of a way to give back what I receive. The Appalachian Trail wouldn't be what it is today without thousands of volunteer hours towards upkeep. So when I finish the trail, I promise to put in 1 hour of volunteer work for every 10 dollars that I raise. These volunteer hours may be on the AT or they may be put towards outdoor activities closer to home. Regardless of whether I reach the goal or only raise a few dollars, anything at all would be greatly appreciated, and I will work to give it back.
