Jackson Park's #HELPTHEKIDS Coin Drive

We are a fourth-grade class at Jackson Park Elementary in University City, Missouri. We have been learning about the current invasion of Ukraine and discussing what it must be like to be a child over there. All the hardships these children have already experienced and will continue to experience in the coming weeks and months truly breaks our heart. Given that our school's mission statement is "We put our hearts into all that we do," we decided we must try to do something to help the children in Ukraine.

 

We began brainstorming ideas and with over a million Ukrainians having been forced to evacuate and leave their homes due to the increasingly unsafe and deadly conditions, we recognized relief efforts for these people are desperately needed, especially since many more are expected to evacuate as the war rages on. We researched charities to find one that specifically helped children and is currently working to provide relief to Ukrainians. We chose the "Save the Children" organization.

 

The "Save the Children" organization is currently working to provide Ukrainian children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, and psychosocial support, through their "Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund". All donations we receive to our #HELPTHEKIDS Coin Drive will go directly to this fund.
