Chasing Dreams

I was infected with the flu virus and it unfortunately sent me into septic shock during our family vacation to what is known as the happiest place on earth. While hospitalized, I suffered a hemorrhage in my brain and underwent emergency surgery (which eventually caused the loss of most of my hearing on my left ear and reduced vision on my left eye). Over the next few weeks, I slowly recovered but the medications that saved my organs restricted blood flow to my extremities (my hands and my feet). This resulted in necrosis, followed by amputation of both my hands (below the elbow) and feet (below the knee). 

 

Despite everything, I haven’t let the loss of my limbs slow me down! Quite to the contrary, it has fueled my Superhero spirit and I have returned to the competitive, full of laughter & life kid that I was before my illness. My family continues to support me in all my athletic endeavors —from track and field to baseball, to soccer, sled hockey, football, swimming and more…

 

While I have been participating in both able body and adaptive sports for a few years now, the cost of this equipment is very expensive and I don’t have the means to get everything that need to get me to the next level.
