Efua Mensima Fosu:
The GirlChild, Ghana is seeking to Empower girls through various ways. To start with, we are trying to help girls stay in school by providing hygiene kits or Sanitary towels, etc. so that they stay in school during their monthly periods. In Africa in general and Ghana in particular, many rural girls in school absent themselves during this period and some eventually, according to a UN report, drop out of school. The GirlChild, Ghana wants to help curb this problem.
Typical costs for Sanitary Napkins run about the same in the USA but in a different currency. Education costs, like Medical costs keep going up. In order to provide Scholarships to these young women, we need your help!
$10, $100 or $1000. will propel a willing student to continue her studies and consider fields of study that her Mother and Grandmother never thought of!
You will receive an email of your student(s) progress and back steps. Ask any question you have. Professionals on site will respond as soon as it is possible, due to the time difference.
This project can be shared in schools in the USA or Canada and "the pen pal" system can be initiated.
