Please Help Me Save My Mom's House

Hi my name is Ama Lea, I'm an artist and designer based out of Los Angeles, CA. In September of 2022 my mom had a brain anyuerism and after two weeks in the ICU, passed away. This was all very unexpected as she was barely 60 years old. I'm an only child and when she got sick, I went to Maine and stayed in the hospital with her every day until the end.

Upon her passing, I was left with a mess. She had no will, no organization to her finances or paperwork. I started trying to work through it immediately and make some sense but it has all been very overwhelming.

This has been incredibly bad for my mental health and well being but I am determined to fight it with every ounce of my being.

She had a mortgage on her home that I contacted immediately and started paying so that it didn't fall behind. What they don't tell you in these situations is that the bank cannot and will not tell you how much is owed, when or where to send it until you are legally the representative of the estate which takes time as it's a court process. So I used an old bill that said she paid $300 a month. So I began paying $300 a month every month. I didn't hear anything and they were cashing the checks so I thought I was fine. The day I finished probate I found out they were starting a forclosure on the house. Why? Because the bill every month with $389, not $300... I owed them less than $500. But now it was in a lawyers hands who wanted $7000...

I was assured for the past few months that all parties were interested in working with me and happy to help get it worked out. Since then I've come to realize they were only interested in giving me the run around to run out the clock and get the forclosure papework into the courts.

And now they've added thousands of extra fees and have even tried to convince my mother's second mortgage company to join them on the forclosure.. they reached out and told me and said they were declining to do so because it was wrong and that I've worked with them every step of the way.

To make this all stop I need around $12,000.

Why am I fighting so hard for this? Because my mother LOVED her home more than anything. She flipped houses most of my life and we moved around alot. She settled into this home and renovated it and never left. It was her sanctuary. I have spent my entire savings, money I set aside for my wedding... everything I have to save it. And now I need more help. If theres anything you can do, even a dollar or a retweet I would be forever humbled and appreciative. This is my family home and I would do anything to save it.
