Joy's gift to the nurses at PMH

Donation protected
Over the past months, Joy endured countless sophisticated and cutting-edge treatments. By her own admission, none were more healing than the tender and vigilant care from the nurses at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Joy's wishes were that any donations in her memory be made to support these underpaid "unsung heroes" who are members of the Ontario Nurses Association's Local 097. All donations will be used to support their collective bargaining efforts for improved wages and working conditions.

Founded in 1973, the Ontario Nurses’ Association is the trade union that represents 60,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, community agencies and industry throughout the province of Ontario. Their mission is to defend the rights of and advocate for nurses and health-care professionals who care for the health of Ontarians by taking collective action for safe, equitable workplaces.
