If you know Joy Naylor, you know who she is - a mom, a wife, a reverend, a lover of life, a lover of people, a student, a writer, a JOY. She has given so many things to so many of us, and now she needs our help.
As many of you know, Joy was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2014 and underwent surgery. Her prognosis at that time was a 95% likelihood of a full recovery. She recently discovered that the cancer has recurred. She and her husband of 45 years, Johnny, are staying in Houston while she receives treatment at MD Anderson. Her treatment is expected to last approximately six weeks.
Unfortunately, the daily grind does not stop when a loved one undergoes something of this magnitude. Johnny must take an unpaid leave from work while he is Joy's caregiver. In addition, Joy pastors a loving and supportive church. Although she can do some things remotely, her treatments will prevent her from fully participating in church life.
While Joy's health insurance covers a lot of her medical expenses, there are many additional expenses that she and Johnny need to cover during this period, such as mortgage payments, living expenses (food, utilities, etc.), insurance deductibles, and certain medical expenses not covered by insurance. We can help. The most important thing we can do is offer our prayers and encouragement. But financial help will go a long way in preventing any interruption in their home life. All contributions will be used to cover these unavoidable expenses.
Joy has made a meaningful impact in so many lives. Your help means so much to her and her family. We are forever grateful for your support.
Peace, and God bless.
