Joyce's Cancer Fund

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! My name is Sarah, and I started this page to help my wonderful mother-in-law, Joyce, with financial support for her cancer treatments. Joyce was diagnosed with endometrial cancer a few years ago. Following a hysterectomy, we thought she was in the clear. But shortly after, it was discovered the cancer had spread. Joyce developed a rare form of cancer called paritoneal carcinomatosis, which affects the abdominal cavity, specifically the peritoneum (the membrane covering the abdominal cavity). While it is not curable, it is treatable, albeit difficult. Joyce has received more than her fair share of chemo rounds, which had been successful in shrinking the cancer. Six months ago we received amazing news - the cancer had shrunk so much, her doctors said she could finally take a break from chemo! The entire family was ecstatic and Joyce was feeling great! On her six month CT scan check up a couple weeks ago, it was discovered the cancer had grown again, by quite a bit. Her doctors have recommended the best course of action to be immunotherapy. This will involve Joyce recieving IV treatments in the clinic, as well as taking targeted medication pills at home. Because the pills are still new to the cancer game, insurance is not helping much. This is where I am asking for help. The first 30 days alone will cost about $3000 out of pocket, followed by another $700-$800 each month after that, which will add up fast. My goal is to help take the finacial burden off of this treatment for Joyce so she can relax, focus on getting well, and enjoy spending time with her family and friends.
