Rest In Peace Joyce Mitchell
Donation protected
If you don't know me already my name is Alex Mitchell, I am an Elvis Tribute Artist in Myrtle Beach, SC but more importantly the grandson of Joyce Marie Mitchell.
She passed away on March 21, 2017 after hard fought battle with cancer and the beginning stages of dementia. I want you to know that she was so much more than just my grandmother...she raised me like her own son, was my number one fan and best friend.
When my mother (her daughter) passed away when I was 7 years old, her and my grandfather didn't hesitate to legally adopt me to make sure that I was taken care of by family. I've been with her from the time I was born until now. She made sure I never went without anything I needed and was raised to treat people with the proper dignity and respect they deserve. She was also my biggest supporter when I decided to break into the Elvis entertainment industry. One of my favorite memories will always be her never watching me during my shows but instead watching everyone else in the audience to make sure they were pleased with my performance. Nothing made her happier.
This is a photo of us at one of my first performances.
Unfortunately she didn't have nearly the amount of life insurance that we had originally thought and her biggest concern was me being left with her medical bills and final expenses. Its important to me to fulfill her every last wish and any money raised here will go to cover her medical expenses (from hospitals and radiation treatments) and the last bit of costs for her funeral services.
I've had hundreds of people ask what they can do or how they can donate money to help and I feel this may be the easiest way. ANY donation no matter how big or small will help. Anyone that truly knew her knows how generous she was and she would take the clothes off her own back if someone needed them.
To anyone who helps out by donating or even sharing this campaign you will always have my undying grattitude. I'm so touched by everyones kind words, compassion, and willingness to help.
Thank you again.
