On Tuesday, August 26th 2014, Joyce was rushed to emergency and it was discovered that she had a tumor on her lung and in her brain. Her brain tumor required immediate surgery and after the successful removal and incredible recovery the doctor's explained that she has stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. The cancer is inoperable as it has invaded her lymphs as well. According to statistics the doctors said she could live anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
Although this has been such a massive shock, Joyce and her family remains steadfast in prayer and know that miracles do happen. She will shortly be undergoing the traditional chemotherapy and radiation treatments, but is also going to be under treatment at the Integrated Health Centre in Fort Langley, where their cancer care centre offers a range of holistic and cutting-edge functional medicine. As this is not covered by Fraser Health, the therapies are therefore private and at an additional cost.
Some of the ongoing therapies she will need are the following:
Vitamin C IV- $126
Local Regional Hyperthermia - $375
Whole Body Hyperthermia - $975
Escadoran Mistletoe Elixir Injections - $130
Alpha-Lipoic Acid with DCA IV - $325
Escozine Therapy - $600/month
Many people who know and love Joyce have asked if there is anything they can do to help. And there is. In addition to your wonderful support and continued prayers, if you wish to contribute to her therapies and nutritional supplements, please make a donation here. There is no obligation of course, but anything that can help her will be most graciously appreciated by Joyce and her family. We will continue to update you on her news as she embraces this journey with her eyes on God with the Joy of the Lord.
Go Team Joyce!! xo
