It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joyce Ann Mathis. Anyone who knew Joyce can tell you she was a fireball with lots of personality. In her hay-day, she would bring all the smoke to the card table and the clubs. She was a loud talker, a fist fighter and a strong, beautiful woman full of expressive energy. We loved all of it because we loved exactly who she was. She touched the lives of so many, and she will be sorely missed. Joyce did not have life insurance so as you would expect it is an expense to give her a proper homegoing. The family will celebrate Joyce’s life with a memorial instead of a funeral service because we believe Joyce would want it that way. We can hear her say now, “Stop crying. Celebrate me. Where’s the party?” The family is asking for your help to raise money to cover the costs of the memorial service that is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th. Though Joyce’s passing was completely unexpected, and we as a family are grappling with the huge hole in our hearts, Joyce deserves to be honored and celebrated for being everything she was to each of us. Joyce will be remembered as a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a friend and an amazing person.
Thank you in advance for any amount you can give.
