Joyanna’s Story
Joyanna is a 40-year-old wife and mom of two who loves life and just wants to keep living it. In January 2025, she received a devastating diagnosis after a couple of months of abdominal pain: stage 4 colon cancer. Joyanna’s life before the diagnosis was full, with a thriving career as a physical therapist, activities and sports for her two children, and lots of fun with her husband, friends, and family.
Since the diagnosis, Joyanna has had to undergo major surgery to remove as many tumors as possible and receive aggressive chemotherapy in an attempt to prolong her life. Unfortunately, she has had to put her career on hold, as the side effects from her aggressive chemo regimen make it nearly impossible to maintain a consistent schedule. As you can imagine, this has had significant financial consequences for her family.
Despite her terrifying diagnosis and a prognosis that includes lifelong chemo, she is making the most of each and every day. When she feels well enough between rounds of chemo, she loves swimming, going to the beach, hiking, running, and going on as many little adventures as possible. Your involvement and support mean the world to her.
