Our beloved mother and grandmother to Thomas James, Sara Jane and Annie Rose, Josephine Manno aka Rock-n-Roll Princess, passed away on June 12, 2026. Joy was born in Brooklyn, New York and after living in Georgia for over 20 years, it's time to bring her home.

To honor some of the best memories with our mom, we're planning to bring her remains from Georgia back to New York in the fall for a celebration of life at Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for support to help with the costs of bringing Mom home and gathering her family together.

Donations will help cover travel expenses, airfare for her children and grandchildren, transportation of her remains, service-related costs, and other memorial expenses.

Josephine devoted more than three decades of her life to serving veterans and their families through the Department of Veterans Affairs. She spent her career helping others access care, benefits, crisis support, and dignity.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to give, sharing this page or leaving a memory of Josephine means so much to us. Thank you for helping us bring our mom and grandmother home and celebrate the life of a woman who meant so much to so many.
