Joy, Jorge & Raiden’s home was flooded by Ida

This fundraiser is to help the Landa family after their home was hit hard by flooding. Last week Hurricane Ida roared through North Plainfield, NJ causing massive flooding. Luckily, Joy, Jorge, and Raiden were able to escape to higher ground but the house is in really bad shape. At least two feet of muddy water roared through the house, destroying almost everything and leaving a ton of mud behind.

The family lost most of their furniture, personal items, and beds. The home is currently uninhabitable as all the wiring must be pulled. I went to help with clean up yesterday and have never seen anything like it. Everything is covered in mud—the floor, the inside of the cabinets—everything! We were literally using snow shovels to shovel their belongs into a wheel barrow and dump it outside. You can see how thick the mud is in the pic I posted. It was unbelievable.

Please, if you can help in any way, it would really be appreciated. Joy and her family are the best. If you know them, you know. Joy didn’t even want to ask for help cleaning up because she didn’t want to bother anybody. That’s the kind of person she is. She’s always willing to help her friends and now it’s our turn to help her. All monies raised will go directly to Joy Landa and her family.
