Hi my name is Jowan and I have been given the most amazing opportunity to represent Cornwall Cricket U15’s 13 day tour to Sri Lanka and the UAE, which I see as being an invaluable experience both from a cricketing and life skills experience. I am passionate about my cricket both from a playing perspective but also in relation to helping out with others including the Juniors at my local cricket club. I am also a qualified umpire which enables me to help the younger players involved at my club.
The tour encompasses a wide variety of experiences of differing cultures as well as playing the sport I love in a completely new setting. Some of the experiences include going to a turtle hatchery, a river safari, City Tours of Colombo and Galle and a visit to a temple in Colombo.
There is an expectation that all players fund their own trip through sponsorship and fundraising activities. The full cost of the Tour is £2,850 which is my overall fundraising target, however from this element I have set a target of £1,500*.
I am doing a sponsored head shave as part of my fundraising and as you may be aware/see in the photo above, one of my most distinguishing features is my long, blonde, curly hair. With this in mind I have decided to shave it off as part of my fundraising for the tour. I am also going to be carrying out other fundraising activities in my local community including an auction night, a coffee morning and a ‘100 squares’ prize draw.
Any donations will help me embark on this once-in-a-life-time, invaluable experience.
