On January 15th 2021, our family’s happiness was broken when my dad, Ed Joven, lost his life after fighting so hard for 26 days in the ICU. My mom Tess, my two brothers Gabe and Nick are devastated and can’t believe this happened to us.
My dad was the definition of an amazing husband & father. There was nothing he loved more in this world than his family. He never failed to make us his top priority. From the moment my dad & mom met in 1988, he did whatever he could to make her the happiest woman in the world and carried that on when my brothers & I were born, making us the happiest kids ever. He supported each of us with everything we did. Not only did he support & love us, his own kids, but also our own friends & those involved in our lives. I even remember a time when I did track and my dad set up a private practice for me my relay team. He gave us tips and encouraged us to work hard & give our all with everything we did. My dad made everyone feel like a friend. Even if it was your first time talking to him, he'd be sure to make you feel welcome & loved. There was never a dull moment with my dad around, especially with his endless amount of jokes & things to say and talk about. He was especially proud of me & my brothers and would always have a video of our performances, accomplishments, or even a random goofy one on hand to share with whoever he'd be talking with. Along with making us feel loved, I know that anytime he was near, I'd feel safe. My dad was, and still is the strongest man I know.
There are no real words that can describe my love for my daddy and what he meant to me. He never failed to be there for me no matter the case or circumstance. I trusted him with my secrets and he trusted me with his. We'd go to each other for comfort after having a bad day and always kept things real between us. I will never forget the countless times we'd jam out to some 80s' music, nor will I forget our spontaneous drives and all the cooking lessons he gave me. My daddy was my true best friend.
Putting this together is my way of helping my mom and my family with this unimaginably heartbreaking time in our lives. Although this pain is something near impossible to get rid of, we'd appreciate anything to help ease our added worries about all the payments that must be made. Funds from this GoFundMe will all go towards family expenses, hospital & medical bills, and all other end of life expenses. That my mom will face. We ask that you please consider helping out the ones Ed loved most in his life, the ones he'd do anything for, his family.
