At 14yrs old Jovana was given 5yrs to live. Diagnosed with a rare and deadly autoimmune disease Scleroderma. This disease attacks the

Lungs and Esophagus making it difficult to breathe, eat or swallow food. It hardens the skin causing ulcers, open wounds and partial amputations.

Scleroderma shuts down all vital organs, deteriorates the lungs, causing heart failure & even Death. Today, there is still No Cure. Doctor's told her having children could kill her. Today her son is 21yrs old and expecting his 1st child. She will be a grandmother soon. Jovana has undergone over 20 surgeries, partial amputations

& a stem cell transplant. This month she was diagnosed with C ANCER for a 2nd time...this time it's a very rare and aggressive type called Neuroendocrine Cancer. Doctor's did not waste any time and have begun aggressive Chemo & Radiation. Over the years Jovana began advocating for Scleroderma patients all over the world and coordinated the very 1st Scleroderma Walk/Run

in San Antonio, Texas. She has taken her fight for Scleroderma Funding to the steps of the State Capitol & Washington and local news stations. Jovana is very well known and remains active in her Scleroderma community. She's coordinated and led the very 1st support groups for survivors in San Antonio.
