Selali’s Health in Motion

Update:  Selali's first trip to Health in Motion gave us a whole new perspective on the kind of life possible for him!  We want to continue to build on this momentum and plan a return trip in 2019.  In five weeks of intensive therapy he was able to bare weight on his hands and arms, set, crawl stand and take a few steps. His parents had the hands on training to help Selali maintain his current skills they provide therapy on a daily basis at home. We continue to ask for your assistance and prayers.  The current donations helped to make the first trip possible.  The trip could not have taken place with out the generosity of donors.  Will you help us continue this journey?  Again any amount is helpful.

This is our story: Two and half years ago our family begin a journey that we could never have imagined.  My grandson Selali  was  diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy due to lack of oxygen at birth. While other 2 year olds are running around, learning to talk and playing games, Selali is busy going to therapy and working hard to perform basic tasks we take for granted such as sitting up, crawling, learning to self feed, stand and walk.  Selali is determined and happy. His team believes that he can benefit from this five week intensive therapy specializing in helping him with our goal of  bringing him to independence as he grows. We are  requesting your assistance to make a costly endeavor to the Health in Motion Rehabilitation Center's LIFE (Learning Independent Function Everyday) Program .  Health in Motion Rehabilitation is a Toronto-based rehabilitation clinic that provides specialized treatments for children with cerebral palsy, developmental delay, acquired brain injury, and pediatric stroke. Selali undergoes continual physical, occupational and speech therapy on a weekly basis locally. His parents do a great job of keeping up with his therapy at home also.  

Selali's parents have paid the deposit and secured a date. Please help Selali's parents by making any donations you can or sharing this page. All proceeds finance the  therapy, lodging and transportation. Because this is out of network therapy, all sessions are paid out of pocket. This is a huge financial undertaking and we sincerely request any and all assistance. I thank you for any support towards Selali's cause.
