Hola !
In 1984, Phil Jackson coming off his own playing career, went to Puerto Rico to coach in the Balencesto Superior Nacional (BSN). As a first time coach, it was difficult for Phil to get a job in the NBA and the BSN gave him one of his first opportunities to see what he was made of.
Nearly 40 years later, I have been given a similar opportunity as a video coordinator for the Mets de Guaynabo in the BSN.
For those of you who know me, have played for me, trained with me; this is a dream come true. A dream that required years of training, sacrifice, and patience to get here. Now that I am, I am calling on my basketball community to help support me as I embark on this journey.
The season will run from March to July and I will be moving to Puerto Rico for this time. While the move is simple, a lot of the extras (transportation, food, flights for my son) I will need to provide myself. I’ve never been the one to ask for help, but someone told me recently, “What are you willing to do, to get what you’ve never had?”
Well family and friends, I didn’t come this far to not be willing to sacrifice my pride! Anything you can do to help me on this journey is greatly appreciated. I love y’all and look forward to updating you all as the Journey to PR commences!!
