Journey to New Jersey- 5450km to Support Local Theatre

Whitworth AMDs was founded in 1963 and over the years has brought countless stories to life, each performance a testament to our hard work and creativity. Now, we are embarking on another ambitious project: staging the energetic musical, "The Wedding Singer." However, to keep the magic of theatre alive, we need more than just talent and passion—we need your support.

To raise funds for the theatre society, the cast, crew and committee are taking on an extraordinary challenge. From now until show week (14 weeks), we will collectively walk, run, swim, and move a total distance of 5450km—the distance from Whitworth to New Jersey (Where Wedding Singer is set).

Each kilometer moved represents a step closer to our goal of ensuring the theatre society can continue to bring joy, laughter, and inspiration to the local community through our productions.

Participants will track their progress, sharing updates and stories along the way. From early morning runs to late-night swims, every effort counts. We invite everyone to join in—whether it's a daily walk in the park, a weekend hike, or a few laps at the pool. Every movement matters, and every contribution brings us closer to our goal and gets us super fit for the high energy dances!

As we journey towards 5450km, we hope to raise awareness and funds to support not just "The Wedding Singer" but the future of the entire theatre society. This fundraiser will help cover costs for sets, costumes, rehearsal spaces, and other vital resources needed to continue producing high-quality performances.
