Hi, my name is Aunalise. I'm 17 years old and live in Washington State. I spent over 177 days in the hospital last year. It's been the hardest year of my life, missing out on my senior year of high school, and trying to physically, emotionally, and mentally survive day to day.
Finally, through several scans and tests, we discovered the cause of my debilitating abdominal pain and symptoms.
I have Neurogenic MALS, also known as Neurogenic Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome, a rare medical condition characterized by the compression of the celiac artery by the median arcuate ligament of the diaphragm.
MY SURGERY IS NEXT WEEK, on 4/10! The most amazing, dedicated, experienced, world-renowned surgeon took my case. BUT HE's IN CONNETICUT! My mom and I have to fly from Seattle to New York, then drive to Stamford, CT and stay there for several weeks before I can be released to fly back.
I'm fund raising to support the cost of an apartment during recovery, a rental car, the 20% of the surgery that isn't covered by insurance, and additional out of pocket medical and travel expenses.
Whether you can support me financially, or through sharing this cause, or with your prayers; it means a lot to me. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO LIFE 2.0!!!
