Hi, my name is Debbie Cook, and
l'm reaching out to share my
journey and ask for your support
during a challenging time.
After battling severe illness for
over four months, things took a
critical turn when I vomited blood
one day, prompting my son to call
911. I was rushed to Vancouver
General Hospital, where I spent
eight weeks undergoing extensive
testing and treatment
Unfortunately, I was diagnosed
with several serious conditions
including kidney failure, liver
failure, cirrhosis, and an enlarged
spleen. I am also facing the need
for hemodialysis and gallbladder
removal.
Now that I've been discharged
I'm focused on healing, but
there's still along road ahead. I
will need ongoing treatments
medications (including some that
aren't covered by insurance), a
specialized diet, and a new bed to
help with the swelling in my legs
and feet. I'm also seeking an
anxiety support dog, new clothes
to accommodate the changes in
my body, and assistance with the
mounting medical bills and
appointments.
This is where I need your help.

essential needs as I work to get
back on my feet. Your generosity

of my recovery and give me hope
as I continue my healing journey.
